Heads
of Department :
The Department of ECE was
headed by Prof.M.R.Rao (during 1999-2002)
and Dr.M.Salivahanan (during 2002-2003).
They coordinated the setting up of various
laboratories for ECE branch of study.
Since July 2003, Prof.S.Palanichamy
is heading the Electronics and Communication
Department.
Prof.S.Planichamy B.E.(HONS.), DR.-ING,
FIE,SMCSI, MISTE
Prof.S.Palanichamy is presently
Dean of Electronics and Communication Engineering
at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology.
He had his research studies completed at
the Technical University Dresden, Germany,
during 1965 - 1969, and the first degree
in Electrical Engineering from PSG College
of Technology in the year 1962.
During 1970-1997 Prof.S.Palanichamy
was serving in the Faculties of Electrical
and Electronics, Electronics and Communication
Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering
of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
He had associated himself with the organization
of a large number of Winter / Summer Courses
and National / International Conferences.
He served as Register of PSG College of
Technology during 1995-1997, and coordinated
during 1992-1997 the IMPACT Project (Computers
Stream) at PSG Tech.
Prof.Palanichamy has guided
7 PhD's, more than 50 M.E.'s and a large
number of B.E.'s in their project works.
He is also an Industrial Consultant in the
array of Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
During 1997-2003 Dr.S.Palanichamy
was a Senior Professor, at PSG Institute
of Management, Coimbatore, as a faculty
in the Systems group. He was also coordinating
during 1997-2000 the Post Graduate Diploma
Programme in Software Technology Management,
and also taught Information Systems related
courses for M.B.A. students Dr.Palanichamy
organized a number of Seminars on 'E-Commerce'
and 'Technology Management' during 1978-2003
in his capacity as the Coordinator of the
Center for Technology Management at PSGIM,
a knowledge Center sponsored by the DSIR
of the Ministry of Science & Technology,
Government of India.
