General Information

The Department of Civil Engineering is functioning from 2001 fulfilling its vision of imparting high quality education. The department offers a full time B.E. degree course in Civil Engineering. Students are givn thorough training in surveying, planning, analysis, design and cost estimation of Civl Engineering Structures including Industrial Structures through intensive practical classes, mini projects, major projects, survey camps and field visits. Besides academic programmes, additional computer courses, seminars and workshops are conducted for the students as well as for the faculty. The department is capable of undertaking consultancy works related to topographic surveying, contouring, design of mutistoreyed structures, shell and folded plate structures, industrial structures and prestrssed concrete structures.

Special Equipments

All the laboratories of the department are well furnished with the latest electronically controlled instruments. Triaxial compression testing machine in the Soil Mechanics Laboratory and Total Station in the Survey Laboratory are some of the sophisticated instruments available in the department.

Paper presentation in Journals and Conferences

Three papers have been published durin' 2003 in International conferences on topics related to

  1. Application of artificial neural networks for trusses
  2. Strengthening of R.C.C. and S.F.R.C slabs having a central hole
  3. Findings on the properties of Confined Concrete based on an Experimental Investigation.

Placement and Training

The placement and training cell of the college identifies the locations for field training of students, coordinates the training process and arranges campus interviews for reputed firms for the placement of students.

Unique Facilities

A separate computer lab with 35 Pentium-4 systems are available for the exclusive use of Civil Engineering Students. Analysis packages such as Ansys and design softwares such as STAAD Pro are available for the free use of students.
